“Dällebach Kari” – The Location
Today we went to Thun to watch the current production of the Thuner Seespiele, “Jesus Christ Superstar”. We watched it from inside the orchestra pit and had the chance to have a look around at the location which will show our musical next year. The location is absolutely beautiful being built into the Thuner Lake while at good weather conditions, you can see the 4000+ m high Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau Mountains right from there. Around the stage there is a whole area with bars, restaurants etc being decorated according to the topic of the musical. The whole stage is mobile, being built every year from the scratch in this location. So the whole “Backstage” Area is somewhat special, too, walking over bridges over the water etc. We got there...
Musical Composing in Switzerland
Hey everybody, I’m currently in Bern/Switzerland working with Moritz in his studio on the Songs for “Dällebach Kari” – The Musical. We’re coming along really well, currently working on one of the main ballads :) The good thing is, the main character “Dällebach Kari”, actually lived and worked only a few kilometres from here, so we’re at the ultimate inspiration spot for our music. I will keep you posted of how we’re coming along. All the best Robin
“Dällebach Kari” – The Musical
After I wasn’t allowed to officially talk about the main project I’m currently working on, the first PR campaigns for it launched recently, so I can freely report about it now :) Moritz and me are currently working on “Dällebach Kari” – The Musical, which is the first own production of the “Thuner Seespiele” in Switzerland which showed classic musicals like “West Side Story” etc. in the past. Dällebach Kari is a historic figure that is very widely known in Switzerland. The location is awesome and we’re very fortunate to work with an amazing team. The musical will have its premiere in 2010 so still lots of time but actually it’s VERY short for a musical. Here are a few pictures from the...
New web page and new track…
As you can see, something has changed here :) After relying on simple html pages for years, I decided that it was time for making the step into the Web 2.0, using a blog-based plattform to run and maintain my site and provide some fancy extras like an RSS feed etc. Also, you now have the possibility to post comments to my news entries and generally, this website feels and looks better, at least in my opinion. On my quest to achieve world domination I now also own the domain www.robin-hoffmann.net, so it should be even easier to stumble across my site. Also, the new system allows me to post quick updates much faster than on the old site, so I will be updating this site even more regularly. I also decided to add some tutorials on composition/orchestration in the...
