Due to the many requests I get, I have been reorganizing my tuition schedule and updated the Lessons-Page to give more detailed information about what will be covered by these lessons and to clear up any questions that may arise in advance. Also, I get many emails by people asking me whether I could have a look at their compositions and give them advice on where to improve etc. so I’m offering now individual composition feedback by Email and Skype which doesn’t involve taking regular lessons. After the concerts with the LOVEBUGS and the Sinfonieorchester Basel, for which I orchestrated the songs, is over, the reception of the concert, as well as the feedback is phenomenal. I just got back from Basel/Switzerland, where I’ve been to the last few days to attend the final rehearsals and shows of the joint venture by the popular Swiss band Lovebugs and the Basel Symphony Orchestra. Since october I have been working on it together with Moritz Schneider and Robert Emery and orchestrated over 90 minutes of music for a 80 piece orchestra plus band. I’m still overwhelmed by the reception of this concert. The show was a massive success, selling out the venue on all 3 evenings, people standing, cheering, applauding and singing through the whole show. I’m just from Basel/Switzerland, where I spent the last few days to attend the first orchestral rehearsal of the arrangements/orchestrations I did together with Robert Emery and Moritz Schneider for the event concert by the Swiss band Lovebugs. On February 4th, 5th and 6th they will play their most popular songs together with the Basel Symphony Orchestra. We had the first rehearsal day right in the same location where the concerts will take place – the famous Stadtcasino Basel. During the last few weeks, I have been very busy orchestrating the music for the big event concert in the Stadtcasino Basel, where on February 4th, 5th and 6th the Swiss Rock band LOVEBUGS will play together with the Basel Symphony Orchestra. Together with musical director and arranger Robert Emery and Moritz Schneider, I have been writing the arrangements of 90 minutes of the band’s most popular songs from several decades of their work and orchestrated these for the full symphonic orchestra line-up  which has been quite a massive task. After the live recording CD of the original cast of our musical “Dällebach Kari” has been available for a few weeks and made a chart entry in the Swiss Album charts already, I’d like to present a few excerpts from this CD here. I’m very proud to announce that our Musical “Dällebach Kari” was this year’s big winner of the “Goldene imScheinwerfer”, winning in 4 out of 8 categories. It won the awards as “Best Musical”, “Best World Premiere”, “Best Main Actress” and “Best Musical Stage”. The winners of these prizes have been determined by the results of a voting by the audience and a jury. Our musical got 61% of the votes as “Best World Premiere” and has been favourited by the critics as well. On November 16th, I went to Zurich to attend the world premiere of “Liebling, lass uns scheiden” for which I and Moritz wrote the score. The premiere took place in the really large cinema “Corso” in Zurich and was a big success. On February 4th, 5th and 6th 2011, one of Switzerland’s most successful and famous bands “Lovebugs” will play concerts together with a full 80 piece symphonic orchestra in the Stadtcasino Basel, in Basel/Switzerland presenting their most famous songs in a new shape.
