I just went through and read every single tip from this year and last! Lots of amazing and useful information indeed! Thank you so much – I especially appreciate the comments on harmony and melodies as I am just starting to take composition more seriously. The first tips on harmony that I’ve read that I don’t feel like I need a doctorate to understand!

Thank you so much for spending the time to put this all together. I can’t believe you’ve made it available for free! I’m a composition student at college, and I write music in a number of styles, but this is very useful for me to see what elements are common and practical in film score composition.

Hi, thanks for all the great tips! However, i want to learn a whole lot about music theory, harmony, counterpoint etcetera. Writing music for orchestra and film. Do you know what books are best for that? I was thinking about tonal harmony, but are there any alternatives? I’m looking for “the best” books for music theory, composition and another one for filmscoring. I hope you can help! Thanks! Roy
