Musical Hits on Cuts

Try to avoid placing hit points or musical accents/downbeats on cuts except for moments where it is meant to be like that (e.g. trailers/spoofs). In general, you should rather try to disguise cuts with your music rather than making them even more obvious.

A cut itself is nothing that has a relation to the way we physically see. Therefore the music should rather serve as a glue to make even a sequence with many quick cuts seem like a constant visual stream. The accidental musical accent on cuts can not be avoided sometimes, however don’t deliberately compose like that and definitely try to avoid hitting several cuts in a row.
