LUCY KAY – Recording Sessions

I spent the last couple of days in Prague at the stunning Dvorak Hall at Rudolfinum recording the new Album for Lucy Kay called “Dark Angel”.

Over two days we recorded a large orchestra, a 32 piece choir and the impressive Organ in this beautiful hall.

We were fortunate enough to get the chance to record in this very busy concert hall and the impressive acoustics definitely made a difference to recording in a regular sized studio.

The FILMharmonic Orchestra and Choir Prague did a wonderful job playing and singing my arrangements for this album.

The album will contain a selection of very well known songs transformed quite drastically into dramatic new orchestral arrangements in a way that – at least to my knowledge – hasn’t been done before. I’m really excited of how this turned out so far and can’t wait to show you the results.

Next up will be recording Lucy’s vocals and then mixing all these elements into a hopefully impressive selection of songs for her new album.

We also shot quite a bit of video footage at these sessions so there will be more impressions from the recordings coming.
